RS Mines has completed its third round of drilling, which involved eight drill holes in the southern portion of its 1 square kilometer exploration and mining grid. This grid square contains The Queen’s Mine anomaly.

The red box outlined on the following map indicates the 1 square kilometer grid owned by RS Mines, which has full rights to exploration and mining within the grid.

The black outlined box indicates the coverage of the eight-hole drill program.

RS MINES welcomes you to The Queen’s Mine chronological historic reporting page. Since our co-founders, Ranjith and Sheriozha Anthony Wijekoon, arrived and secured The Queen’s Crystalline Graphite Mine in 2009, RS MINES has executed numerous air, land, and underground exploration and mining activities.

We are pleased to present our exploration, geological, resource, valuation, and scientific analyses and reports.

2009 - July - RS MINES collaborates with Peradeniya University, Kandy - Occurrence of Graphite Veins in Kotuhena, Ræjina Wala.

This name, ‘Ræjina Wala’, translated from Sinhala to English, means ‘Queen’s Mine’, the name adopted by RS MINES in relation to its 1 Square Km exploration and mining grid containing the Queen’s Mine helicopter VTEM Bull’s Eye and Main Entrance, obtained and secured by RS Mines in 2009.

2012 - April - RS MINES The Queen’s Mine - Reconnaissance VLF survey report in collaboration with Prof. K. M. Prematilaka.

RS MINES collaborated with Geophysicist Professor K. M. Prematilaka to complete a VLF survey in adjoining land areas. In addition to the six crystalline graphite veins identified in 2009, the VLF survey concluded with three more indicated and subsequently verified through underground tunnelling.

2014 - Dec - RS MINES completes VTEM helicopter survey of the Central Province of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Bora Bora Resources (ASX: BBR-Delisted: 2018)

VTEM Helicopter Survey identified numerous Bull’s Eye Anomalies located within Sri Lanka’s Central Province.

2015 - Sept - RS Mines, Toyota Technological Institute of Japan, and Mission Vector Partners Japan Collaborate to present, Analysis of RS Mines’ The Queen’s Mine Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite (HOPG) Identifying Naturally Forming Graphene Surfaces via Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM)

2015 - Dec - Particle Analysis of RS Mines’ The Queen’s Mine Crystalline Jet Milled Graphite.

RS Mines collaborated with the Sri Lankan Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) to complete a particle analysis on its jet-milled crystalline graphite. The results illustrated a 90% particle range at 6.4 µm.

2016 - Feb - RS Mines, The Queen’s Mine, SRK Consulting Valuation Report.

RS MINES, The Queen’s Mine, achieves a NET present valuation (NPV) of 18.5M USD (at a discount rate of 13.18%) and a peak at 21.55M USD with an 80% probability of reaching industrial-scale mining. This valuation report, executed by SRK Consulting, is based on the geological evidence to date along with the underground workings of RS Mines, with consideration of the extracted crystalline graphite material from the identified veins. The valuation report was completed prior to the commencement of any exploratory drilling.

2017 - May - RS MINES THE QUEENS MINE GSMB Exploration Work Programme.

2017 - May - RS MINES completed an in-depth Study of Geological Mapping and a Location Study of Historic Adits at The Queen’s Mine.

RS MINES completed an in-depth study into the topography, geology, and historic workings executed by Professor P. D. Maha Arachchi. The results identified three historic adits, internally connected with two further vertical shafts, to make a natural ventilation system.

2017 - December - Preliminary Drilling Report on Graphite Mineralisation at RS MINES THE QUEENS MINE - A.S. Jayakody.

RS MINES begins its first round of drilling at The Queen’s Mine, results identifying six to nine crystalline graphite intersections to a 200M depth ranging from cm to half a meter in thickness from three individual drill holes. RS MINES completed the initial round of drilling in association with The Geological Survey & Mines Bureau (GSMB), Sri Lanka.

2018 - January - Spectrum Processing of Crystalline Graphite and Host Rock at RS MINES’ The Queen’s Mine.

RS Mines completed a spectrum analysis of its crystalline graphite and the surrounding host rock at The Queen’s Mine. The analysed samples identified a peak Carbon purity of 99.07%, with the material presenting a highly crystalline structure.

2018 - December - JORC resource report executed by Senior Mine Geologist K. Damayantha.

RS MINES completes its second round of drilling at The Queen’s Mine, identifying nine large crystalline graphite veins and bringing the resource total to 100,000 Tons per Vein to 120M average depth.

2022 - September - Graphene Analysis of Graphene Produced via Electrodynamic Disaggregation of RS MINES’ Queen’s Mine Crystalline Graphite in collaboration with Curtin University, WA, Australia.

2024 - January - Dr. Michael Cunningham, Sonny Consulting, Mineral Resource Estimation of The Queen’s Mine, Crystalline Vein Graphite Deposit.

RS MINES completed its JORC-certified Resource estimation report at The Queen’s Mine, moving the resource to 1M Tons within the area covered to a depth of 120M. During due diligence, Dr. Michael Cunningham visited onsite to view drilling and core inspection. As part of the JORC Resource Report, you can view the 2024 JORC Consent Certification.

2024 - Sept - Coin Cell Analyses of RS Mines’ The Queen’s Mine Natural 99%+ Carbon Crystalline Graphite Vs Industry Standard Japanese Synthetic.

RS Mines collaborates with Polaris Battery Labs, Oregon, USA, to complete a series of coin cell analyses in comparison to the industry standard Japanese synthetic graphite. Results concluded with a 20% performance advantage in increased storage capacity and discharge time compared to industry-standard Japanese synthetic graphite. RS Mines’ The Queen’s Crystalline Graphite material underwent no processing to produce these results.

2024 - Dec - RS MINES, The Queen’s Mine, LIDAR Drone Survey.

RS Mines completed its LIDAR drone survey at The Queen’s Mine under its exploration licenses. The survey was executed in collaboration with GSMB Technical Services, Colombo, and Peradeniya University and was completed with the approval of the Sri Lankan Aviation Authority.

2025 - Mar - RS MINES, GSMB Technical Services, in collaboration with Peradeniya University, Kandy, are currently completing RS Mines, The Queen’s Mine's final drill round in the southern area of its one Sq km Exploration & Mining Grid Square, containing The Queen’s Mine Bull’s Eye. Drilling will reach 1,200 Feet in depth, the deepest drill hole recorded to date, with the forecast to drill to a total of 1,800 Feet (09/03/2025)
